Hotel de Gallifet
(HE) ART STORIES - Group show
From June 5 to September 30, 2021
The Gallifet art center, housed in an 18th century mansion in the Mazarin district of Aix, is an essential place for artistic exchanges and meetings for all art lovers. In the shade of hundred-year-old trees, five large exhibition rooms offer visitors a choice of contemporary artists and talents. But also, depending on the season, outdoor concerts, “Supper Clubs” and conferences around an art personality are on the program.
This summer, the Hôtel de Gallifet wanted to highlight the very special relationship between the curators and their artists. To do this, we approached Francisca Viudes, at the origin of The (He) art for (He) art Program, which welcomes artists throughout the year to its residence in Nice. Together, we are pleased to present the collective exhibition (He) art Stories which will be held in Gallifet until September 30, 2021.
These Stories are stories of humanity, travel, sharing and otherness told through the works of ten artists from around the world. Some are written in ink, others are woven using a thread and a needle, or even formed by traces of pigment on the water, all rich in vestiges of the past reconnecting with the present. in order to tell a new story. Created in residence or for exhibitions produced by The (He) art for (He) art Program, these works evoke the unique relationship made up of connivance and discovery between the Curator and the Artist.
The artists: Hilal Sami Hilal, Hilario Isola, Wolfe von Lenkiewicz, Shiva Lynn Burgos, Dimitri Mallet, Reynier Leyva Nova, Lucy + Jorge Orta, Petroc Sesti, Douglas White.
Founded in 2018 by Francisca Viudes, adviser in modern and contemporary art for collectors and private institutions, The (He) art for (He) art Program is a non-profit organization conceived as an intimate encounter with art.
